    I dont know why I've never thought to hold a clean wet brush to smooth the lines while I'm painting. My rinse water becomes mud within minutes. Because I'm rinsing away pigment that I'm still working with just to clean/smooth/reload with same pigment. Saves hundreds of trips to the sink for fresh water, and conserves my paint too❤

    Toning with white is dicey as it can take weeks for the white to stop migrating through your other colors. And it generally looks chalky. Better to lift and scrape if you can get away with it.

    This idea of working with the curves of the animal or object makes so much sense. And yet, it's always a balancing act between imagination and observation, isn't it? And the tidbit about the darker values around the flipper, and for the features of the face is so helpful. Hubby and I just returned from a trip to Vancouver and a cruise up the Alaskan inside passage. We saw a sea lion playing with his food, eagles, whales, a bear. I bet you have lots of wonderful pictures. I do to, of the beautiful landscape. Lots of painting possibilities.

      @paintingandchocolate 3 дні тому

      To me they offer these natural color I really like about them, as I tend to stay away from bright ones. It's mainly it. Also the quality is enjoyable with Derwent, even if Faber Castell and Caran d'Ache professional lines are even better. With other brands than these 3 I haven't found much I like for watercolor pencils.

    I came across your channel while I was and am a little stuck about deciding which water color pencils to buy after I fell for the water color medium... I almost work with ten mediums and you are someone who came as pretty interesting to me as you work with I think what can be labelled as water soluble mediums.. I draw hyper realistic portraits too... To I always felt why did they get graphtint Or tinted charcoal for that matter out... Then I thought some people may like sepia sort of stuff... But since I love animals too... It's for the first time I got interested while looking at you draw... Coz you seem like drawing and using for fun.. But hey I am stuck between 48 set of Albrecht durer and drewent inktense... What do you recommend and why...

    • @paintingandchocolate
      @paintingandchocolate 3 дні тому

      Thank you for sharing about your journey! Between both sets I'd say the Albrecht Dürer feel a bit more pro and versatile, while the Inktense are fun and vibrant. I would pick the former for professional art and the latter for play (painting, coloring, mixed media...). But that's just me.
